KUKA Systems North America, Clinton Township
KUKA Systems North America, which makes robots for automotive and aerospace manufacturers, is adding 110 jobs in Clinton Township, doubling its total employment at this location. The company plans to invest $14.4 million and has received a $900,000 grant from the Michigan Business Development Program. The company also received a property tax abatement from the local community. KUKA employs more than 100 people in Clinton Township dedicated to the aerospace industry. The North American headquarters for the Augsburg, Germany-based company is in Sterling Heights, a nearby Macomb County community.
Paslin, Shelby Township
Paslin, a member of Wanfeng Technology Group, is a full-service process, design-and-build organization. The company has always been recognized as a leader in the construction and integration of manufacturing assembly and automation systems. Paslin’s tremendous growth over the past two years has provided over 325 jobs. Wanfeng’s support of Paslin’s continued growth locally brings the addition of over 150 jobs being created in the state of Michigan in 2016. The company constructed a new facility in Shelby Township and expanded its three current facilities in the city of Warren, investing more than $20.6 million and creating 224 new jobs. As a result, the company has been awarded a $1.7 million Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant. Michigan was chosen over competing sites in Alabama, Tennessee and Washington. The city of Warren and Shelby Township offered support to the project in the form of property tax abatements.
Fori Automation, Shelby Township
Headquartered in Shelby Township, Fori Automation designs and builds automation, assembly, testing and welding equipment for the automotive, defense and aerospace industries. Fori Automation’s global facilities include: Shelby Township, Michigan (global headquarters); Merzig, Germany; Beijing, China; Seoul, South Korea; Pune, India; Saltillo, Mexico; and Sao Paulo, Brazil. The project will generate a total capital investment of $9.9 million and create 52 jobs, resulting in a $250,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant. Michigan was chosen over competing sites in several states and other countries. Shelby Township has offered support to the project in the form of a property tax abatement.
